2024 - Austurbyggd Vík. Planning competition for a new neighborhood in Vík in Mýrdal.

The proposal is based on the existing master plan. By positioning the residential area to the north and shopping- and service area in the southern region, do we shelter a new residential complex from the sound effects from the main road. The divide between the two areas is broken up by a winding road, which creates a diverse play of outdoor areas between north and south. There will be a lively street scene that captures the view towards the magnificent Víkurhámr and Víkurkletti and creates a shelter from the east..
The proposal emphasizes good connections with the existing settlement, for pedestrians and cyclists as well as drivers. A strong emphasis is placed on an attractive path system for pedestrians and cyclists and to support the concept of 20 minute town.
Residential area (ÍB8, ÍB9) build up at one traffic lane, which runs from east to west, and there are connections to it via axes from south to north. To ensure traffic safety in a family-friendly residential area, this axis is regularly broken up by bottlenecks and speed bumps.
Footpaths interweave the existing settlement with the new one and connect green areas, hiking trails and the surrounding nature. Visual axes between Víkurhamr and the seaside on the one hand and between the town and Víkurklett on the other emphasize the surrounding beauty.


2022 - Little Lava

Litla Hraun prison consists of different buildings from different periods. Together, these different buildings form a fragmented whole, which, however, includes various opportunities. This proposal aims to make the most of the existing buildings, promote efficient phasing and ensure that location, the form and connections of new buildings to existing buildings increase the safety of both prisoners and staff. There will then be an architecture that highlights the quality that is present and gives the prison a coherent and attractive appearance.
The main input of the proposal is two new building sections that run across the main existing buildings. Divide the new buildings' outdoor areas into diverse spaces, while creating new connections between building components. In this way, a more efficient and safer framework will be created around the work of the prison.


2020 - NLFÍ idea competition

The ideology of the Icelandic Society of Naturopathy (NLFÍ) is effectively reflected in the company's health institution in Hveragerði. Nature is paramount; it gives the operation a strong tone and is the basis for treatment solutions that strengthen both body and soul. In the proposal presented here, nature differs, in all its shades, continue to play an important role, while at the same time creating a simple framework around the various activities that are planned. Efficient activities combined with a diverse experience will thus lay the foundation for a good life for guests and staff.. 2020 - Nursing home in Húsavík

The main entrance is an angular building with two wings that frame a sheltered and sunny outdoor area. The elms each have three floors with excellent views. 2018 - Kindergarten Seltjarnarnes

The focus of the proposal
The main input is an angle shaped building on 1 - 2 hills along the south coast and Nesvegi. 2018 - Northwest Elementary School Húnaþings, extension

New wing of the Primary Húnaþings west of 1028 m2 in size, located north of the existing school building and stretches from the west and the east of the country.
